938 Options (continued)

2 5 SEC INTERVAL

If enabled, 5 Sec Interval will add a delay of 5 seconds between successive failed call attempts otherwise this delay is 60 seconds.

3 MAX ATTEMPTS

Max Attempts is the maximum number of call attempts that the modem will make to the Central Station before giving up.

4 FTC ATTEMPTS

FTC Attempts is the number of failed call attempts that the modem will make before generating a Fail To Communicate event.

5 RETRY PERIOD

Retry Period is the amount of time, in minutes, that the modem will wait after a block of 12 call attempts before trying to contact the central station again.

941 SITE NAME

When you select Site Name you will be prompted to type in the Site Line 1. It is the installation's identification or address. This is sent at the start of the text messages and must be programmed. You are not obliged to fill-in Site Line 2.

942 PHONE MENU

1 PHONE NUMBER

Phone No's is where you key-in the telephone number(s) of the phone(s) that will receive text messages from the system. You can have up to 7 phones.

2 PHONE NAME

The system can contact up to 7 phones that receive text messages. Instead of referring to them simply as Phone 1, Phone 2 etc. the installer can assign more meaningful names using the Phone Name feature.

3 PHONE TYPE

Phone Types: When sending text messages to phones you can identify them as belonging to Users or Engineers. This is relevant when using the SMS Engineers (0*1) feature.

4 PHONE OPTIONS

Phone Opts. (phone options) is used to report events via SMS messaging. Events like: Alarms, System Events, Arming, Inhibit, Soak Zone, Technical Zone & Fire Exit. For instance to report technical zone activations to phone 1 set P01Rep Tech YES.

If sending an SMS, please check with the phone company to see if "Caller ID" is enabled on the phone line and that it functions properly.

Not all landline service providers offer the SMS feature. Please check beforehand.

5 PHONE BLOCK ASSIGN

Phone Blk Assign (Phone Block Assign) is where you can assign specific blocks to specific phones. By default a phone will be notified of activity in all the blocks.

943 SEND TEST TEXT

Allows the installer to send a test SMS message to one of their pre-programmed telephone numbers without having to create an event.

1 SMS ATTEMPTS

Attempts is the maximum number of call attempts that the modem will make before giving up. By default this number is 12.

2 MAX SMS MESSAGES

Max SMS Msgs is the maximum number of SMS messages sent for any given event. By default this number is 7.

3 SMS ALARM DELAY

SMS Alarm Delay; if there is an accidental activation you may wish to delay the SMS alarm message from being sent and so give the user a chance to key-in their code. By default, there is no delay.

4 SMS COMMANDS

SMS Commands is, by default, set to YES. This allows the user to arm, unset and part-set their system by texting in a command message. They can also get status and log reports this way too.

5 SMS CALLER ID

If you only want the system to accept in-coming commands from phones it recognises (i.e. only those that have already been programmed), then set SMS CallerId to YES.

945 TEST MESSAGES

1 TEST START

During an installation, the installer can programme the system to make its first SMS test message at a specific time into the future. Select Test Start and key-in the hours and minutes of the first test call.

This will be the first and only test call unless you also select a test period. See below...

2 TEST PERIOD

Following on from the first SMS test message, subsequent test messages can be made at a set interval. Select the number of hours of this interval by keying-in a number in Test Period.

In the UK the Test Start is pre-programmed with a random time and the Test Period is 24h by default. Reprogram to 0h to deactivate test messages.
