93 Monitoring & Voice

931 Phone Menu

1 Phone Numbers

Phone Numbers is where you key-in the phone numbers that the digi will contact in the event of an alarm, fault etc. 16 digits can be programmed for each phone number. The NO key will clear numbers.

2 Phone Accounts

Phone Accounts is where you key-in the account number issued by the monitoring centre. 6 digits can be programmed for each account number. The NO key will clear numbers.

3 Phone Protocols

Depending on the equipment used by your monitoring centre, you can select the appropriate format to communicate with it. Each phone number can be individually programmed with the Fast Format, SIA, Extended SIA or Contact ID protocols.

Alternatively, by selecting the Voice protocol, you can send voice messages to the key-holders' phones instead. In this instance you should go to Rec. Site Name in the Voice Site Name menu where you will be prompted to record the site's name instead. You can have 8 sec. of message.

note

There is no need for an account number with voice protocol.

932 Make Test Call

Allows the installer to make a test call to one of their pre-programmed telephone numbers without having to create an event. You can make a test call to phones with the voice protocol as well as the traditional monitoring station protocols.

933 Channel Menu

1 Channel Types

Channel Types is used to assign different events, like Fire, Alarm etc., to each of the 16 Fast Format channels used in the digi. So, for instance, Ch 2:Panic means that a Panic activation will trigger channel 2 at your monitoring station - you should contact them prior to installation to confirm your channel configuration.

2 Channel Options

There are three Channel Options for each channel; the delay time (in seconds), whether it is a positive or negative going trigger and whether you want a restore message or not. As an example: Ch 2:Dly=00+NRES means that channel 2 has a zero second delay on a positive going trigger and NO RESTORE message will be sent.

Note 1

RES = RESTORE.

Note 2

Positive and Negative triggers are a throwback to standalone digis. In the context of an integrated digi you should, in general, leave the trigger polarity as "+".

Note 3

Channel Types and Channel Options are not required for SIA, Extended SIA and Contact ID. However they can be used with those protocols to control when an event is reported e.g. if you want to delay a Fire event report by 30 seconds change Ch 1: Dly=00+RES to Ch 1: Dly=30+RES (Channel 1 is typically for FIRE).

934 Reports Menu

1 Phone Reports

Each Fast Format channel type can be programmed to report to any of the 4 central station phone numbers. For instance, Fire events can be reported to either phones 1 or 2 while Technical events could be reported to phones 3 or 4. Remember when you are doing this to disable Dual Report.

For instance Fire :1234 means that a FIRE event is reported to phone 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Example: If you don't want FIRE reported to phones 2 and 4, select Fire :1234. See that the colon is flashing and then type digits 2 and 4. The display should look like Fire :1-3-.

2 Block Reports

Furthermore, each block can be specifically configured to report individually in Blk Report Menu.

For instance Blks :012 means that the event in question will be reported to the monitoring station account numbers associated with blocks 0, 1 and 2.

note

Like Phone Reports above, select your blocks with keys 0, 1 or 2.

935 Voice Site Name

1 Record Site Name

Record Site Name is where you are prompted to record the site's name / address. You can have 8 sec. of message.

2 Play Site Name

If you want to listen-back to the recording then select Play Site Name.

note

There is no need for an account number with voice protocol.

936 Test Call

1 Test Start

During an installation, the installer can programme the system to make its first test call to the monitoring centre at a specific time into the future. Select Test Start and key-in the hours and minutes of the first test call.

note

This will be the first and only test call unless you also select a test period. See below...

2 Test Period

Following on from the first test call, subsequent test calls can be made at a set interval. Select the number of hours of this interval by keying-in a number in Test Period.

note

In the UK the Test Start is pre-programmed with a random time and the Test Period is 24h by default. Reprogram to 0h to deactivate test calls.

937 AVI Menu

1 AVI Time

The AVI Time (audio visual indicator), in seconds, is freely programmable and is the length of time this feature remains active for when triggered.

2 AVI Message

During an AVI event a message is displayed on the keypad. This AVI Message is freely programmable. The default message is Call Monitoring i.e. Call the monitoring centre.

3 AVI Voice

The AVI message can also be spoken by the panel if AVI Voice is selected as YES.

938 Options

1 Dual Report

Dual Report, if enabled, will ensure that events are reported to all central station phones in the report list. If disabled then the dialler will stop after it has sent a message to one of the phone numbers in the report list.
